Level: Basic – Intermediate

Description: Practitioners will receive an in-depth look at how to approach applications for leave outside the rules, including how to assess the applicant's circumstances and available evidence, as well as practical considerations for making applications. It will include an opportunity to participate in case studies, either in groups or led by the tutors.

The topics covered will include:

• Preparing applications for leave outside the rules;

• Supporting evidence, including instructing experts;

• Fee waivers and application process.

The aim of this course is to develop an understanding of a best practice approach to applications for leave outside the rules.

The course will not cover: asylum, humanitarian protection, discretionary leave, post-asylum, fresh claims or family reunion.

Audience: This course will be of particular interest to immigration law practitioners acting in personal immigration matters.
