Dr. Muzong W. Kodi has more than 40 years of research, writing and lecturing on Africa as well as working and residing in several African countries. He has written more than 200 country expert reports for asylum seekers and other migrants from several African countries. He has also provided more than 100 authentication reports for official documents and several reports on nationality and adoption cases. As a consultant, he has been contracted by international organisations, regional African organisations, and multinational companies. He previously held senior management positions in Transparency International, Amnesty, International, and the African Centre for Monetary Studies. I also taught at the University of Nairobi in Kenya and the University of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He holds a PhD in African History from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, USA, and speaks fluent French, English, Lingala, and Kikongo, as well as intermediary Swahili.

- Transparency International, in Berlin, Germany, as Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East (from 2002 to 2005),
- Amnesty International, in London, as Director of International Development (from 1994 to 2002),
- African Centre for Monetary Studies, as Director of Publications (from 1983 to 1993),
- University of Nairobi, in Nairobi, Kenya, as Lecturer in African History (from 1979 to 1983),
- University of Lubumbashi, in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, as Associate Professor of African History (form 1976 to 1979).
Since 2010, I have been a member of the International Academic Advisory Board of the International Anti-Corruption Academy.
From 2005 to 2016, I was an Associate Fellow of the Africa Programme of Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
I also served on the Boards of Directors of two international organisations working in Africa: the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Development in Africa (EISA) from 2010 t0 2016, and the Diamond Development Initiative International (DDII) from 2006 to 2018.

Since 2007, I have written more than 200 country expert reports for asylum seekers and other migrants from several African countries. The issues addressed in the reports included, for instance, risk on return of failed asylum seekers, of foreign national offenders and opposition political activists; gender-based violence; rape and availability of assistance and protection for victims of rape; vulnerability of women returnees; social and economic conditions; levels of poverty; political situation; human rights situation; availability and access to employment, accommodation and mental health facilities; availability State support and protection for returnees, discrimination and stigma for mental health conditions.
