The Expert acquired her doctoral training in biological anthropology from Emory University and is an Associate Research Scientist at NYU and incoming Postdoctoral Fellow in the Dept. of Psychology at Yale University. Her research focuses on characterizing heterogeneity in post-traumatic stress and treatment outcome among high-risk populations in Vietnam, Jordan, and Bangladesh.

The Expert has worked on projects focused on Rohingya and Syrian refugees in Bangladesh and Jordan, respectively. The most extensive of the two would be with the Rohingya population. They co-led the design and implementation of a longitudinal birth cohort study in the refugee camps to understand the impact of maternal trauma and mental health on early childhood development. That study is ongoing.
