Some downtime expected this weekend from Friday evening as we update our website
We're pleased to announce that a new and updated EIN website is scheduled for launch on Friday, 09 August.
What's changing?
Technically speaking, EIN will be moving to the latest version of the platform (Drupal) upon which our website is built.
We appreciate that most EIN members are busy professionals so while the new website will have a fresher and more modern design, we're keeping to a very familiar look and layout. Anyone familiar with EIN will be able to find all content with ease and won't need to relearn their way around the site.
There are some changes and improvements to bundles and menus to be aware of:
• EIN members who use bundles should note that the 'Add to bundle' command is now on a slide-out to the left. This means you'll be able to add items when reading through a long document and you won't have to scroll back to the top as you currently do.
• Left-hand menus will be moving to the top of the page to provide more room for content. Please note that the 'My bundles' page will now be under the 'User Account' menu.
Preparing for the new website
EIN members should note that you will need to re-enter your password on the new EIN website.
If you haven't already done so, please make sure that your email address is correct and up-to-date. Go to 'My account' on the menu on the left and click 'Edit' if you need to correct your email. Having a correct email address will mean you'll be able to automatically reset your password should you have forgotten it.
If you have any trouble logging in to the new website, you will also be able to email admin@ein.org.uk to request that we reset you password for you.
Credits
Upgrading 20+ years of data (which translates into hundreds of thousands of individual items) has been a major technical undertaking and we're hugely grateful to our web developers, Netuxo and GreenNet.
Drupal specialists Netuxo took over as our lead developers for the new website and undertook the majority of the development work, with assistance from our long-standing web developers GreenNet.
