Date of Publication:

Right to Remain, which is a charity that challenges injustice in the immigration and asylum system, last week published a new resource about the exploitation of migrant workers as part of its renowned Toolkit.

Right to Remain toolkitThe concise new guide on work exploitation and migrant workers' rights can be accessed here. Right to Remain encourages people to share the link.

It explains what work exploitation is and how having insecure immigration status can increase the risk of such exploitation. As the guide notes, the UK's work-related immigration system is based on employer sponsorship and this creates dependency and reliance on employers.

The guide also provides an overview of what rights migrant workers have in the UK and what a person can do if they are experiencing work exploitation.

Plenty of useful links to further resources are included throughout the guide.

The guide was produced with input from the Work Rights Centre (WoRC), Focus on Labour Exploitation (FLEX), and Migrants At Work Ltd.

Work Rights Centre said on X: "This new toolkit from Right to Remain for migrant workers is essential reading if you want to identify work exploitation, understand your rights, and know what you can do to fight back. We're thrilled to have collaborated on this empowering project."

Right to Remain's full Toolkit can be accessed here and offers a step-by-step guide to the UK asylum and immigration system.
