Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at The New School for Social Research with 15 years of professional and academic experience in media, politics, and human rights. Skilled in international affairs, media monitoring, political analysis and consultation, and democracy and governance. Extensive knowledge of key political actors, civil society, and social impact program investors in the Latin American region.  Author of several articles on human rights, elections, populism, and social movements. Professor of Political Science and researcher. I possess extensive expertise in Venezuelan political affairs, both as a local and as an expert in the field. With over 15 years of experience working in human rights and the political landscape of the country, I have developed a deep understanding of its complexities. Additionally, my expertise in Guyana, Bolivia and Ecuador stems from my role as a Program Manager for the International Republican Institute and Political advisor for Canada respectively, where I collaborated with scholars, NGOs, and human rights activists. This experience provided me with valuable insights into human rights, legal issues, and their political implications.

Experience

While I do not have direct experience working with refugees, I am an expert in political affairs and human rights in the following countries: Venezuela, where I have lived and worked as a political scientist, taught comparative politics at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and served as a political advisor to the Canadian government, providing guidance on Bolivia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. In Guyana and Argentina, I managed human rights programs for the International Republican Institute.

Ethnic groups expertise
In Guyana, I worked directly on a program aimed at depolarizing the two most prominent ethnic groups in the country, African Guyanese and Indian Guyanese.

I consider myself an expert on political groups in Latin America. I teach Latin American politics at Yeshiva University and have conducted research on political parties in Guyana, Brazil, Guatemala, and Venezuela.
