The Expert's expertise is primarily in Southern Africa but has worked on countries in Eastern Africa too. The thematic areas I have worked on include, human rights, social movements, citizenship, political repression, LGBTQI+ rights, conflict, transitional justice, disability, ethnicity, social media, political violence, elections, religion, cultural beliefs and practices

Experience

The Expert has extensive experience doing research teaching on Southern Africa over the last 16 years. The Expert has also advised a range of policy makers, think tanks, and international agencies.  In addition to this, The Expert has conducted multiple television and radio interviews with media organisations such as BBC World News, Sky TV, CGTN, talkRADIO, LBC, RTE Radio, BBC 5 Live. They have also been featured on the ‘History of Africa’ documentary series produced by Zeinab Badawi.
