Stricter searching: a slight change to the EIN search

All EIN users should note that we've made a slight tweak to the EIN search.

Put simply, we've made it just a bit stricter and it should help you get fewer and more relevant results when you search on EIN.

Whereas before, a search would operate on the principle that one word out of three (or a third) of your search query could be optional, it now tightens that up to one word in four and only 25% of your search is optional (see http://www.ein.org.uk/help/searching-ein-website for some search basics).

There are plenty of other options for us to improve the search and we would encourage feedback from EIN Members to help us see what changes would be best to make.

In particular, if you are finding a search is not giving the results you would expect or not finding the content you had hoped for, please let us know. Please e-mail support@ein.org.uk. It would be a great help if you could let us know the exact search query you were using (just copy and paste the url from the results page).

Feel free to also send us any general comments you have on the search.
