  1. Job Description:

This job role involves similar duties of an immigration law solicitor or a senior caseworker such as to carry out legal research, draft grounds of appeal, rebuttal briefs, draft witness statements, draft rigorous correspondence to relevant authorities, complete application forms in block capital letters, write emails and supporting statements related to various immigration law matters.Furthermore, to draft coherent Administrative Review grounds and submit them with the associate application forms to the relevant authorities, prepare advice letters following initial consultations/enquiries and be kept abreast of the constantly changing immigration laws and policies and adapt casework on existing client cases accordingly in line with updated guidance.The role also involves carrying out the necessary associated administrative duties such as to review, scan and action incoming correspondence, frank outgoing post, issue invoices, draft welcome packs and review compliance documentation, handle telephone and email enquiries, book appointments, carry out general and legal file keeping responsibilities.

  1. Qualification:

For the Solicitor position, the ideal candidate would be expected to have a bachelor degree in law LLB and either an LLM, GDL, LPC, BVC or BPTC.For the Senior Casworker postion, the ideal candidate would be expected to have a UK degree from a Higher Education Institution in a related major such as History, Business  and Management.

  1. Experience:

The ideal candidate would be expected to have at least 1 recent year of solid immigration law experience.The candidate would be expected to have focused legal experience and excellent legal drafting skills and be able to work independently without supervision.

  1. Key responsibilities:
  • Take initial instructions from potential new clients and offer initial advice verbally and in writing.
  • Following up on existing client cases and establish the relevant facts and key dates and take further instructions.
  • Advice on all aspects of immigration law, in particular appeals, EEA applications, Nationality.
  • Prepare appeal bundles, draft witness statements and engage with experts.
  • Correspond with the Home Office and Immigration Tribunals and barristers.
  • Carry out the necessary legal research and provide sound advice.
  • Manage own caseload with efficiency.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information.
  • Maintain high standard in the processing of casework, both in respect of professional standards and client care.
  • Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to the manager.
